When I Wasn't Homeless

When I Wasn't Homeless

For this work, I asked homeless individuals in New York City if they could think back to a time when they weren’t homeless, perhaps to a happier and less complicated time, like a childhood memory. If they agreed, I would wait and watch as they searched theIr mind’s landscape. Once a memory was In place, I would take their picture.

The idea for this project was to uncover a light in the minds of each individual, however fleeting.
